Due to the nature of the trip, each trip is unique.
Each departure and every tour is different.
Depending on the best weather forecast of spotting the Northern Lights.
Sight locations are usually never the same, due to weather forecasts, cloud cover, and light pollution.
But we will try our best to fulfill the dream and the excitement.
Our goal and passion are small groups so the Northern Lights private tour is perfect for 1-7 passengers.

Aurora Borealis, another name for the Northern Lights, is a natural wonder, and hence, the sighting is not guaranteed every night during the northern lights period. However, we will drive you to the countryside, into absolute darkness, in the hope of seeing the wonders of the Northern Lights and making your adventure exceptional.
The Northern lights period in Iceland is from late August till late April. The darker and brighter the skies, the better for seeing the aurora borealis. Hence, February, March, October, and November are the best months to see the northern lights in Iceland in wintertime. We always attempt to bring you to the best places and sites around Reykjavik.

The time when aurora borealis is most noticeable, and chances are highest are from late August to late April. It depends on how long the northern lights appear in the sky. Sometimes it might be only a few minutes, sometimes ranging for many hours. Even the northern lights can be powerful and evident, and it is best to be in a dark spot, where there is no light pollution.
The best months to observe the northern light in Iceland are February, March, September, October, and November, but the northern lights period remains from August until April.

The Northern Lights, also recognized as aurora borealis, are produced by solar activity, including solar wind, solar flares, and coronal mass ejections (CME). Those are all sorts of electrically charged particles emitted by the sun. It takes a solar flare about 8 minutes to travel from the sun to the Earth and clash with gaseous particles in the Earth’s atmosphere. Due to fluctuations in the Earth’s magnetic field and the dark winters at the north and south poles, the northern lights are more noticeable near the poles than anyplace in the world.

Available from the 15th of September to 15th of March.

Not available on the following dates.

23th of December ( St. Thorlak’s day)

24th of December (Christmas Eve)

25th of December ( Christmas Day)

31st of December (New Year’s Eve)

1st of January ( New Years day)

Hunting can be exciting but unfortunately, we can not guarantee to always see the Northern Lights.

Following stops in the private city tour Reykjavik:

Laugardalshöll arena

Laugardalshöll is a multi-purpose sport and exhibition venue found in the Laugardalur area of Reykjavķk capital. The arena consists of two main venues, a sports hall and an indoor arena for track and field athletics competitions. Laugardalshöll arena is also where Bobby Fisher and Boris Spassky played a chess match in 1972.

Höfši House

Found along Reykjavik’s spectacular waterfront is a charming whitewashed house known as Hofdi House. In 1986, a major world-historical event took place when the presidents of Russia and the US, Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan, met to end the Cold War. At Hofdi House, they effectively attempted to take the initial moves towards global disarmament.

Harpa Music Hall

Harpa is one of Reykjavķk’s most remarkable landmarks and a heart of cultural and social life in the very heart of the city. Harpa is a tourist destination and an award-winning work of art that millions of people have visited since opening in 2011.
Harpa is home to the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Icelandic Opera, and Reykjavķk Big Band, which hold regular concerts throughout the year. Mślinn Jazz club also resides in Harpa and the Classical Sundays Series, both offering shows regularly.
Various music festivities have been held in Harpa since the house began in 2011, and world-famous music bands, soloists, dance groups, and theatre companies have performed here. In addition, Harpa yearly offers Upptaktinn, the children’s music awards, and the musical mouse.

Hallgrķmskirkja Church

Hallgrķmskirkja is a Lutheran church, found on top of the Skólavöršuhęš hill in the center of Reykjavķk.
At 74.5 meters (245 feet) tall, it is the tallest church in Iceland, and its tower gives a spectacular panoramic scene over the city. The church was designed by one of Iceland’s most celebrated architects, Gušjón Samśelsson, who is said to have sought inspiration for his expressionistic design from elements of the Icelandic landscape.
The church took 41 years to develop, with building starting in 1945 and finishing in 1986. Outside the church stands one of the most important statues of one of Iceland’s most legendary Viking, Leifur Eirķksson, by American sculptor Alexander Stirling Calder; Eirķksson was a Norse adventurer from Iceland who discovered the continent of North America in the year 1000, more than half a century before Christopher Columbus.
The statue was a gift from the United States in 1930, on the millennial birthday of Iceland’s parliamentary body, the Alžingi, established in Žingvellir in 930 AD. Alžingi was the world’s first democratically elected parliament and is now located in downtown Reykjavķk. The church’s tower is each day visited by hundreds of travelers who seek to enjoy its sweeping panorama of the city. The tower can be reached via a lift.

Perlan Dome

Perlan (‘The Pearl’) is a museum and rotating glass roof that stands on top of Öskjuhlķš Hill in Reykjavik; circled by the Öskjuhlķš park, it is one of Reykjavik’s most unique landmarks. The site was built on six water tanks that stored 24 million liters of Reykjavik’s hot water. Architect Ingimundur Sveinsson originally designed the construction in 1991; the hot water storage tanks that had stood on top of Öskjuhlķš since the mid-20th-century were modernized when the hemispherical glass dome was added on top.
The project was primarily curated by the respected politician Davķš Oddsson during his time as mayor of Reykjavik.
At night, the water tanks are ignited by floodlights that illuminate the building for all of the city to see. On top of the dome signals the airplanes flying to and from the nearby Reykjavik Domestic Airport.

Presidential Place Bessastašir

Bessastašir is the legal residence of the President of Iceland. It is also an important historic place that has played a leading role in the country’s history. The property of Bessastašir has a history that goes from the Age of Settlement. A significant number of visitors come to Bessastašir each year, either by invitation or as tourists. Bessastašir was first established in 1000. It became one of Snorri Sturluson’s farms in the 13th century. After Snorri’s assassination in September 1241, Bessastašir was claimed by the King of Norway.

Drive-by a sculpture called the Sun Voyager, an ode to the sun, drives through the downtown harbor area.

Do you want to experience a shopping spree in Iceland? Then you’ve come to the right site!
These are the stops in Reykjavik Shopping Private Tour and maybe some more….

Kringlan mall.

The first stop is the Kinglan Mall. Kringlan is the biggest shopping mall in Reykjavķk city. The mall offers a wide variety of over 150 shops, 23 places to eat at, and various services.
At Kringlan, you will find everything from a public library and a cinema to some of the city’s finest fashion shops and restaurants. Be sure to make a great deal in Kringla’s friendly and relaxing atmosphere. You’ll always find what you’re looking for in Kringlan!
https://www.kringlan.is/english/

Smįralind mall.

Smįralind is one of the largest shopping malls in Iceland. In Smįralind, you’ll find over 90 shops and companies on three floors. They have an outstanding range of world-renowned labels. Restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, a pharmacy, an ice cream parlor, multi-screen cinema, and a fully equipped gym. Ice wear, Body Shop, Dśka, Lindex, H&M, Espirit, Lego, Levi´s, and New Yorkers.
https://www.smaralind.is/english/

Hafnartorg square

A mix of shops, cafés, and restaurants, besides residential apartments and modern office spaces, the Harbor Square design answers the need for office, retail, and living spaces in the contemporary downtown Reykjavķk area.

Hugo Boss, Armani, Polo Ralph Lauren, Rolex, Tag, Ray-Ban, and Burberry, Levi´s, North Face, and 66° North among other stores.

Grandagaršur Harbour area.

Just beside the city center lies Reykjavķk’s old harbor area known as Grandi. Initially, the land was just a stretch of sand connecting Reykjavķk to Örfirisey island but has been added considerably in the years since. Now the old harbor is one of the most exciting neighborhoods in Reykjavķk. It still holds its dockside charm, and you can still feel the fishing industry’s presence. Still, a steadily increasing number of museums, hip restaurants, and artisans’ workshops have made their home in the vacated industrial houses, making Grandi one of the hottest places in the city. Omnom chocolate factory, Valdķs ice-cream store, and Flatey Pizzeria.
